ODBC - Supported Data Types

This driver supports the following Data Type options:

Data Type

Description

Block Model

Import data representing a block model.

Importing: Dialogs 1, 9 (optional) 2 ,3 and 4 are displayed.

Points

Import data representing points.

Importing: Dialogs  2 ,3 and 5 are displayed.

Polygons

Import data representing polygons.

Importing: Dialogs  2 ,3 and 6 are displayed.

Strings

Import data representing strings.

Importing: Dialogs  2 ,3 and 7 are displayed.

Tables

Import data representing tables.

Importing: Dialogs  2 ,3 and 8 are displayed.

Exporting:

Dialogs 2 and 3 are displayed.

Import Dialogs:

  1. Specify Block Model Parameters: determines the model origin, cell size and the number of cells in each axis in the incoming file.

  2. Select Data Source: allows you to select either a file, or machine-based data source. A new data source can then be created, if required.

  3. Table Selection: the format of this dialog is determined by the selection made in the Select Data Source dialog. The dialog is used to filter incoming data from a database, spreadsheet or file, on a table-by-table basis. For information on respective dialogs, click Help when the dialog is displayed.

  4. Block Model (XYZ) Data: effectively, the field filter dialog for block models imported using the ODBC driver. It also specifies the key Coordinate and Increment fields.

  5. Point Data: used to filter incoming point data on a field-by-field basis.

  6. Polygon Data: used to filter incoming polygonal data on a field-by-field basis.

  7. String Data: used to filter incoming string data on a field-by-field basis.

  8. Table Data: used to filter incoming table data on a field-by-field basis.

  9. Block Model Parameters: only shown if you elect to use information from a selected database file to determine the model origin, cell size and cell resolution, rather than manually specifying them in the Specify Block Model Parameters dialog.
